Note

Notes:
References to CICD cards contain information only about sound recordings from Micho Russell.
Digitised and catalogued by Jackie Small, completed March 2004.
The title of the DAT(s) was altered from the old title (DCS) to the new title (ITMA-REEL/DAT) using different numbers in order to establish consistency in the titling of DAT copies of reel-to-reel tapes, Niall Hackett, 2010
DAT transferred digitally to hard drive and saved as 24 bit BWF using the DATs original sample rate. Files are stored on ITMA server. The WAV titles follow the convention of their relevant DAT copies.
Imported from Reeldubs July 2013

Documentation:
Spoken information on tape ; Carton: ; Large label: 'MR 2. / taped by P. Tierney / Luogh Doolin / Winter of 1969 / all written. The ______ / rough index in jotter' ; Written on the carton: 'M. Russell / MR 2' ; Small label: 'MR 8' [with letters M and R joined] ; Written on spine: 'M. Russell No 2' ; Label on spine: 'MR 8' [with letters M and R joined] ; Reel: ; On one side: ; Label with 'MR 2. 1. / M Russell / Doolin' ; Label with: 'MR 8' [with letters M and R joined] ; On other side: ; Label with: 'MR 2. 2. / taped by P. Tierney / Luogh Doolin' ; CICD cards written from this tape ; Typed contents list for this tape in the ephemera for this tape gives: 'MR 8' [later addition; with letters M and R joined]; 'M.R. 2 / Taped by Peter Tierney / Winter 1969'. The reason for the two ID numbers for the tape (MR 2 and MR 8) is that BB transcribed the tape first for CICD (as MR 2) and later, after his retirement, when he no longer had access to the original CICD cards, as MR 8 (with letters M and R joined, BB's 'logo' for his post-retirement work with MR). The contrast between the two sets of cards and the separation between them, corresponding to this scenario, is particularly marked in the case of this tape.
