Biographical history

Ted Hickey was born in Wicklow in 1940. He was a member of the Arts Council of Ireland from 1988 to 1993 and was Keeper of Art at the Ulster Museum from 1972 to 1993. He also championed traditional Irish Music and served on the board of the Irish Traditional Music Archive.

Archival history

Original reel-to-reel tapes were digitised to CD-R at an unknown date. CD-R copies were transferred to Broadcast WAV files by Memnon Archiving Services, Brussels in 2019.

Collection of reel-to-reel tapes recorded and compiled by Ted Hickey. Tapes feature singing sessions, recordings of the proceedings of the Tom Delaney Memorial Concert, and recordings from the radio programme 'James Joyce and The Lass of Aughrim'.
