Notes:
These are not the songs used by HS's 1968 Radio Éireann program 'Down by the Canal', copies of which are on Reels 172 (CID 239544) and Reel 168 (CID 239407)All these titles were recorded for HS by the Avondale Studio 1966 (many more than once). None of the texts here agree completely with the Avondale renditions printed in the Leader disc sleevenotes or in Hugh’s book Shamrock, rose and thistle.Tracks A4–6 have the same four tunes in same order as Reel 184 (CID 239635) ‘Avondale studio 66/5 (tape 2 of 2nd session)’ and may be copied from Reel 184. LS, May 2017 I would say that they are certainly Avondale copies rather than Radio Éireann ones. - Lisa Shields, May 2017
