Gráinne Yeats (1925-2013) a professional harper, singer, teacher, arranger, historian and recorded artist.

Archival history

The collection arrived in ITMA on the 20 April 2018 from the home of Aibhlín McCrann. Due to the sale of the Yeats family home the collection had been transferred to McCrann's home for safe keeping by Catríona Yeats, daughter of Gráinne Yeats.

The collection contains music manuscripts, photographs, slides, lecture scripts, diaries, music arrangements (mostly for the Irish harp), research notes, ephemera, artefacts, and commercial & non-commercial sound recordings. A large number of books also form part of this collection.

47 reel-to-reels and cassettes were digitised in 2018. Photographs and slides from this collection were digitised in 2021 as part of a Heritage Council of Ireland funded project.
