Notes:
Digitised from the reel-to-reel tape and catalogued by Jackie Small, February 2007
This tape contains a high-quality copy of acetate recordings featuring Seamus Ennis, pipes and solo singing, from the RTE sound archive. The copy was probably provided (or facilitated) by Radio Eireann for use in Breandan Breathnach's index of Irish traditional dance music.
Many tracks are available in remastered versions on the RTE reissue CD 'The Return from Fingal' (RTE CD 199). The only tracks digitised here are 1) tracks that are not available on the reissue CD, and 2) tracks where the version on this tape is fuller than that on the CD.
BB's working copies of the material on this tape are at 2023-ITMA-REEL and 2036-ITMA-REEL.
Imported from Reeldubs July 2013
